Popping up now!

It's time for the next pop-up of The fringe arts this time they are in The V&A Waterfront in the Victoria and Alfred Mall, right by Den anker.
These are some pics I took when I dropped off my stock, it's going to be beautiful.
So come have a look and even come pop in at the launch party. Meet some of the designers and get some beautiful things.
I'll take some pics tonight of the launch and all the pretty things and people.
I love this shop, they are my favourite stockists, follow them on twitter as well:

golden bunnies and crosses... (birthday gifts and boredom)

so.... the end of year dawned upon me... it brings the end of my acedemic year and my birthday, which incidentally is also my younger brothers birthday (2nd birthday, thanx mom, can we get a refund?) So before I lost acces to a mayor big workshop, only until mid January though...
I did the following:
For those who have seen my portfolio from 3rd year might remebr my bunnie rings...
anyway I made a master of it and made a large amound of them (as seen above)
cast these into silver and treated them.....
The one above I gold plated, some I polished and the others I sandblasted or oxidised....
They don't look half bad, gonna sell them soon...

So coming back to my brother (and my birthday) I decided to make him a rosary (I never give him a present btw, and vice versa). the rosarie is the same as Ive made before, which he liked and just made it with black tourmaline... think of it as a belated 21st present....

Esculpta jewellery... wow

I discovered this website and had to share... http://www.esculpta.com/
While doing research for my thesis, I have been breaking my head over the designs available. For those who don't know my thesis's working title is :Defining Contemporary jewellery in the gay community and if there is a market for it.
This websit was the first I found that thought outside of the box. I'm absolutelly in-love with their designs. I find there is a richness in symbolism in thier pieces that one lacks normally. Jewellery shouldn't just be static but should have some life, some meaning and they acheive this.
There is a certain beauty in what they have dont, not just on an aestetic level, but on a level of giving you meaning to an otherwise dead piece. The use of mediums such as rubber with silver works well and the shape of the male figure is taken into consideration with most pieces.
The fact that they think out of the box and have come up with quite ingenious designs, I reffer to their cock rings, amaze me. Not only have they taken a piece that normally just gets over looked, they have turned it into quite a fashionable piece that is practical.
I'm really amazed by this collection and I am looking forward to seeing what else they have instore....

top and/or bottom?

Officially a photo('s) of one of my Btech pieces. This is my 2nd piece, both having the same concept behind them. This one is just a bit more technically challenging.
The rings read top and bottom, as you can guess their on the tops and bottoms of the rings. The rings can either be read as just a fashinable piece or it can be because of a more sinister nature... Boys, you figure out which side will be more prominent. The rings still unfinished as of now. But will be done soon, with another 2 pieces designed with this concept... Maybe a versitile piece as well... Lol
