Heads up...

I have a little addiction with making these.
Everytime I see toys...
I decapitate them and make brooches...
You like?
They are available on my Hello Pretty Store.

Each is a polished brass shield
with a sterling silver pin and catch

These are the latest ones I made...
Like the Bronotosaurus?

Favourite commissions upto April

Here's just a few pics of some of my favourite commissions I did recently:

I know I've blogged about this one before... But it's still a favourite.
Sterling Silver Gents Wedding ring, Roman Numerals reading the wedding date.

A Gear Heart Brooch in sterling silver with hand pierced cogs.
Made this one that the cogs fit snugly into each other
and cannot turn but the effect is amazing when worn!

And then one of my Heart Rings.
I oxidised the sides and polished the edges of this one.

I'm feeling an urge to play with this idea again and bring out some pieces inspired by it...

updates from my black little heart...

So my dearest monkeys... so here follows the latest update from the little black heart range... I have been getting requests from people about the pieces so here are the two latest available...
Unofficially the range isn't out yet, but I mean really, do I need a grand opening?

So this is the little black heart rosary... The beads on this one are black tourmaline and cracked clear quartz... Many variations on this piece are available, my favourite is red coral with black tourmaline... Price is dependant on the stones used...

This little beauty is my other baby... based on the claddagh rings of old, this is a promise necklace or for all intensive purposes, just something pretty... Available as a brooch too...

tick tock tick tock....

Here's one of my favourite pieces, a clockwork heart brooch. I've been known to call my heart, the beaty thing, the organic pump, machine that needs to stop... yes I don't like emotion, yet I thrive on it. This piece was one of my "ten piece" collection. It was inspired in part by a friend who designed a piece of jewellery based on Karl Ruprecht Kroenen, a vilian from the hellboy series, who has a clockwork heart, read him up on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Ruprecht_Kroenen , i do not condone wikipedia as the information is unsourced and though mostly right does contain some errors). The piece was also inspired by a bit of an emotional setback I had and I wished at that time to be able to turn my heart off like a machine, hence silencing the beaty thing. The brooch is large about 6 cm in diameter, the outside is flypressed quite shallow and pierced in a cracked and beat open manner. The bottom gears are soldered onto the back plate and are slightly smaller than the tope gears. The top gears sit ontop of cheniers cut .2mm higher than the bottom gears. These in turn can move and connect. The inside was oxidised and scratch brushed to give a worn and old manner like the heart has been through much damage and abuse.
